1st Day: Tour in Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplion and Epidaurus
Corinth Canal
(Corinthian Canal – Palace of Agamemnon – Tomb of the Kings and Princes – Lion’s Gate – Fortress of Palamidi – Bourtzi – Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus)
Your private tour will drive you from our start point Athens to Corinth, the city that connects the Peloponnese Peninsula to Attica. Corinth lies along the Isthmus, the famous Corinthian Canal that connects the Aegean to the Ionian Sea. Known as a commercial and trading hub in the ancient years and marked by the stay of St Paul in 49 CE, Corinth is a nice and important city in Greece.
Nafplion
Leaving Corinth behind us, we will be heading to Mycenae the city of Homeric King Agamemnon. A city full of antiquities and remains of a glorious civilization, offers you the chance to see some remains from the 11th century BC.
The Palace of Agamemnon, the Tomb of the Kings and Princes and the Lions’ Gate are among the must see sites in the area.
The private tour continues, bringing you to another historical city of Modern Greece, the picturesque port city of Nafplion, the first capital city of Greece. You will have the chance to visit the imposing Fortress of Palamidi and dine by the sea, viewing the cute island of Bourtzi that lies amidst the Gulf.
We are also going to visit Epidaurus, the place where the largest and most impressive Ancient Theatre of the Antiquity lies. Known for its acoustics, the theater is a wonderful landmark of the ancient years but is also used today for plays and concerts during the summer months. After spending the night at Nafplion, your private tour will resume next day, heading towards Diros Caves.
2nd day : A vistit to Caves of Diros
(Diros Caves – Gytheio)
After Epidaurus and Nafplion we will drive to Diros, where you will have the chance to see the Caves of Diros in Vlyhada; a unique place that is considered one of the greatest caved lakes in the world, featuring fossils, stalagmites and stalactites dating 2million years back. We will have lunch and dinner at Gytheio and we are going to spend the night there.
3rd Day: Our tour continues to Messene and Andritsena
The town of Messene, the next stop of our sightseeing tour, is a significant town of the antiquity, founded by Epaminondas in 369BC.
Andritsena
Today, it boasts a large part of the original site which is open to public, while the modern town is highly developed and houses more than 10,000 residents. We will be spending the night in the nearby town of Andritsena.
4rd Day: Tour in Olympia
(Temple of Apollo and Zeus – Museum of the Games – Ancient Olympia)
The following day, Athens Taxi Tour will take you to Olympia, the city that became famous word wide as the birth place of the Olympic Games. Featuring the Temple of Apollo and Zeus, as well as the Museum of The Olympic Games and the site where the Olympic Flame is born every four years, Ancient Olympia is a glorious place to see. We will be spending the night in the hospitable and friendly city.
5th day : Rio bridge and Nafpaktos
We will leave from Olympia and drive from Peloponnese to the other side of Greece crossing the new bridge from Rio to Antirio. Short stop to Nafpaktos. We will drive for 1.5 hours to reach Delphi, where we will spend the night.
6th Day: Tour to Delphi
Delfi - Treasury Of The Boetians
(Temple of Apollo – Athena Pronaia – Museum of Delphi)
Our guided tour would be incomplete without a visit to Dephi, the center of the Ancient World. You will have the chance to see the Temple of Apollo and Athena Pronaia, the Museum of Delphi with the Bronze Charioteer and the Gymnasium.
The Sanctuary of Apollo was the setting where Oracle Pythia was giving her ambiguous prophecies.
7th Day: Tour to Meteora
(Meteora Monasteries – Tempi – Zagori – Papingo)
Leaving Delphi next day, we will continue to Meteora, the famous Suspended Rocks of Central Greece, where the second largest complex of Monasteries is located – after Mount Athos. You will be able to visit the monasteries included in the list of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO.
Next stop of the Athens Tour will be the rich valley of Tempi, an area dedicated to God Apollo. Strategically located in Central Greece, it used to be a large fortified settlement used by both Romans and the Byzantines; today, you can see the ruins of the fortress and the temple of the gods.
Papingo River
Heading northwest, private tour will bring you to the gorgeous Zagorohoria; the Villages of Zagori are an excellent sample of traditional Western Greek Architecture and a mixture of mansions, small houses, farmhouses and stone constructions.
The cobblestone paths and the stone bridges are the trademark of this region; preserved and maintained in an excellent condition, the bridges are situated over rivers and waterfalls, amidst lush greenery and impressive natural settings. You will be amazed by the relaxing and rejuvenating feeling of these areas and the beauty of the place. We will be spending the night at Papingo, one of the largest and most beautiful villages in the region.
8th : Tour to Perama Cave and Ioannina
(Gorge of Vikos - Cave of Perama – Ioannina)
Next day, our sightseeing tour will start from the Gorge of Vikos, a few kilometers away. The deepest Gorge in Europe is an impressive location where trekking groups and outdoor activity clubs from all over the world gather to cross it.
Heading toIoannina we will stop at the Cave of Perama, one of the largest caves in Europe and the largest in Greece, covering a total area of 14,000 sq. meters. The guided tour will take you inside the caves where you can see fossils and remains from the prehistoric Era and impressive murals dedicated to the Gods of the Underworld, Pluto and Persephone. Overnight in Ioannina.
9th day: Tour to Igoumenitsa, Preveza and Nafpaktos
Rio - Antirio Bridge
We leave from Ioannina and we drive through Igoumenitsa- Preveza watching the Ionian sea and the Ionian islands.
We will be spending the night at the wonderful town of Nafpaktos, where you can enjoy a nice dinner by the picturesque harbor-fortress and next day we will be heading back to Athens.
10th Day: Back to Athens
We will have breakfast and slowly crossing Rio Bridge and the Corinth Canal we will return to Athens.
